Gabriel (2007)
Goth angels rule in Gabriel, a 2007 Australian film in which a host of angels come to earth in a last-ditch attempt to save humanity and themselves. The archangel Gabriel stands out as the strictest soldier of heaven, but he is human enough to disobey orders when it comes to saving his fellow angels, even if he has to give up his own life.
He rebels, but he never falls from grace. The role of Gabrielis perfectly portrayed by Andy Whitfield. The movie, directed by Shane Abbess, is an all-time entertaining movie that got positive reviews from critics.
Heart And Souls (1993)
In this angelic film directed by Ron Underwood, four people are killed in a bus crash, and they hang around Robert Downey Jr. who played the role of Thomas Reilly and the four of them become his guardian angels.
This heaven-bound quarter comprised of a former thief, a would-be singer, a single mother, and a woman with unfinished boyfriend issues makes Downey’s life a bit hellish as all of them can only communicate with Reilly. That’s Hollywood for you. Even the angels want a piece of Danny. The movie is a fantasy comedy-drama that must be watched by people.
Heaven Can Wait (1978)
Nobody with a sex life like Warren Beatty could ever be called an angel. So heaven can wait had to call in Buck Henry and James Mason to wear the halos.
Henry’s rookie angel and Mason’s upper echelon angel have suited bureaucrats, but their formal language by the rules demeanor, and humor simply play up their good-heartedness. The film, a sports fantasy drama, was nominated for nine-academy awards and deserved all the praise. In 2000, Heaven Can Waitwas remade asDown to Earth.
Angels In The Outfield (1994)
Angel Al is charged with making a good kid’s dream come true, and this being a Disney movie, you know he will succeed. Christopher Llyod portrayed the role of Angel AI, and from the minute he makes his outrageous entrance in a cup of soda, angel Al is as off-kilter but loving an angel as any kid could ever want.
The film is a remake of the 1951 film of the same name. The American family sports fantasy comedy-drama, directed by William Dear, is a must-watch movie.
The Prophecy (1995)
The version of angel Gabriel seen in Prophecy couldn’t be more different from the one we saw earlier in the list, as he is intent on waging war with heaven. The role of Gabriel is played by Christopher Walken in all-out evil mode.
Eric Stolz is his good-guy heavenly opponent, but Walken’s Gabriel steals every scene with his petulant sneer, manic glare, and total badass charisma. The movie was very popular and was followed by four sequels.

Dogma (1999)
Kevin Smith’s outrageous satire dogma, you either love it, or you hate it, but it doesn’t bore you for that. You can give thanks to Batleby and Loky, the angels played by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon because they keep things lively.
These two angels have been expelled from heaven due to their disrespectful behavior, and now they are finding new ways to sneak into heaven. These two angels make irreverence and destruction, and this creates a whole lot of fun. This movie is a must-watch for everyone out there.
Constantine (2005)
The movie Constantine is a 2005 dark-fantasy film. Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton’s androgynous Gabriel at first seems disdainful of the humans she is meant to protect, but it’s more than that, the festering contempt the angel to launch a plot to literally make Earth a living hell.
The movie also stars Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, a demon hunter and a supernatural exorcist and demonologist who tries to prove that her sister Isabella Dodson’s death was mysterious and not a suicide attempt. John’s investigation leads to a feud with Gabriel.
It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)
This Christmas favorite has inspired several other movies, including the Nicolas Cage Vehicle and the Family Man. The movie, directed by Frank Capra, is based on the short story and booklet The Greatest Gift. Clarence Odbody, the movie’s guardian angel played by Henry Travers, may just be the most lovable and heavenly representative in the film.
Clarence is also good-natured, kind, and surprisingly effective. He definitely deserves more than the wings he wins at the end of the film. The movie is considered to be one of the greatest films of all time, which must be watched by all. It was nominated for five Academy Awards.
Michael (1996)
This heavenly film is about the Archangel by the name of Michael, played by John Travolta. In Nora Ephron’s film, he doesn’t act much like an angel; he smokes, drinks, get into fights, and speaks more like a sailor than a citizen of heaven.
His determination to help silly humans realize when they are in love puts him squarely on the side of the good guys. It is a fantasy movie that makes it exciting for the audience to watch it again and again.
Wings Of Desire (1987)
Wim Wenders lyrical and beautiful Wings Of Desire casts its angels as mere observers of humanity. Damiel and Cassiel feel no emotion life literally passes them by without really involving them. Their peaceful but bland existence is challenged through unexpected human interaction, after which Damiel chooses to live as a human, but Cassiel remains an angel haunted by what he has experienced.
The remake of the movie was made in America as City of Angelsin 1998. is both joyful and grim and, for an angel movie, remarkably human.
City Of Angels (1998)
The Hollywood remake of the 1997 classic movie Wings Of Fire wisely does not try for a short for short recreation of the original, instead opting for an effective albeit very mainstream love story. Nicholas Cage is certainly an odd pick for an angel, but the actor delivers a good and by his standards a reserved performance.
Seth becomes interested in one of the heart surgeons played by Meg Ryan opting to fall and turn to a human to experience one breath of her hair. Starting as an angel who observes but doesn’t understand humanity, Seth’s journey is defined by discovery, enlightenment, and love.
Hell Boy II- The Golden Army (2008)
The movie directed by Guillermo del Toro proved that he could bring to life fanatical creatures unlike anything else in cinema. The hell-boy movies are filled with great practical effects, but their crowning achievement might just be the angel of death while only appearing for a short scene.
This angel saves the hell boy’s life, although the act is not exactly fueled by generosity. Mike Mignola beautifully portrays the role of the hell boy. This is a very engaging movie that must be watched.
